Institute of Biomedical Science Overview

Overview

Fresh Workspace were invited by the IBMS Management team to submit a design along with a Scope of Works for the refurbishment of the 4 floors of their central London offices in order to modernise the workplace and replace an ageing infrastructure.

We needed to identify the frailties in the existing structures and design a robust solution that delivered the reassurance of reliability for the foreseeable future.

The proposal required a balance between providing a moderate, cost-effective solution whilst delivering a modern and contemporary environment of the workplace for both staff and visitors.

The scheme involved stripping the building back to the base build and a complete overhaul of its infrastructure before construction of the new interior could be carried out. The works were carefully programmed and carried out over a couple of phases to ensure that IBMS remained operational and could provide the support required of their members.

The design provided additional toilet facilities for staff and visiting delegates, an increase in the number of workstations, additional meeting rooms and offices and a modern energy efficient environment that provides a suitable workplace for the staff.

The works were carried out on budget and to the agreed timeframe.
